Bret Bowlin operates ATL Urban Farms, located in Forsyth County, Georgia. Raised in the Atlanta area, Bret graduated from Georgia State University and has worked in the horticulture industry for 30 years. After 10 years with a landscape firm, he and his wife, Cindy, founded Mountain Valley Farms in 1995 to grow ornamental perennial plants.
Since 2008 Bret has been working with sustainable methods of growing clean and safe food. He began working with Curt Beavers in 2013 and established ATL Urban Farms to grow seedlings for the Tower Garden as well as building a Juice Plus business. ATL Urban Farms now provides seedlings, workshops, tools, and resources to help Tower Gardeners toward a better way to grow good food and their businesses.
Bret has been active in agribusiness and water issues at the State level, and on trade association Boards, including the Georgia Urban Agriculture Council. He serves on tech school Advisory Committees, the Board of RIO Ministries, and with the youth and mission ministries at his church.
Bret and Cindy live on the farm in Cumming and are very proud of their daughter, Catherine, a graduate student at Georgia College, and their son, Sam, a freshman at LSU. They also share space with Sadie, the little brown dog.
